Eight Indianapolis Public Schools grads will be inducted into the district's Alumni Hall of Fame on Oct. 7.
The group includes former WRTV (Channel 6) anchorman Howard Caldwell, a 1944 graduate of Howe High School; former City-County Council President Rozelle Boyd, who graduated from Crispus Attucks High School in 1952; and IPS School Board President Mary Busch, a 1958 Attucks graduate.

Other inductees are business consultant Tom King, who graduated from Tech High School in 1960; National Campaign to Prevent Teen & Unplanned Pregnancy director Paula Parker-Sawyers, a 1969 graduate of Northwest High School; Dr. Woodrow A. "Woody" Myers Jr., the former Indiana health commissioner and a 1970 graduate of Shortridge High School; and Dennis Bland, president of the Center for Leadership Development and a member of the 1983 class at Broad Ripple High School.
The only inductee not expected at the luncheon is architect Michael Graves, who graduated from Broad Ripple in 1950. Due to a schedule conflict, Indianapolis Art Center executive director Joyce Sommers will represent Graves.
The third annual Hall of Fame ceremony, which celebrates distinguished IPS alumni, will begin at 11:30 a.m. at the Indiana Roof Ballroom. The luncheon program benefits the IPS Education Foundation. Tickets are $75 each, and reservations are due by Friday. Call (317) 226-3706 for more information.
