Rubbish: Reuse Your Refuse?

Saturday, February 7, Noon – 3 p.m.
Taught by Kate Shoup

Drowning in a sea of stuff? Kate Shoup, author of “Rubbish: Reuse Your Refuse,” shows you how to upcycle, breathing new life into stuff otherwise destined for your junk drawer or a landfill. In this workshop, you’ll learn how to construct an artful photo frame made entirely of recycled items as well as explore other projects featured in “Rubbish.” Workshop participants will also receive a copy of the book.

Bio.: Freelance writer and compulsive crafter Kate Shoup has authored three craft-related books: “Not Your Mama’s Beading,” “Not Your Mama’s Stitching,” and “Rubbish: Reuse Your Refuse.” She’s particularly taken with projects that involve materials otherwise destined for the scrap heap. When not writing or trying to figure out yet one more function for a bottlecap or beat-up map, Kate loves to ski, read, and ride her motorcycle—and she plays a mean game of 9-ball. Kate lives in Indianapolis with her daughter and their dog.
