The ReUse ReOrder exhibit now up at the Indianapolis Art Center is an exciting showcase of artists' true creative capability to create art with recycled treasures that people simply throw out in their everyday life. Artists use materials such as dried paint, wire and plexiglass to design artwork that many people have never seen. Art is more than just the perfection of a drawing or sculpture, but the emotion that is expressed by the artist as they reach out to their viewers. This show is truly an amazing site to see and I would highly recommend anybody to attend. You will find inspiration and gain a new respect for what may be lying in your garbage can this very moment!
Although there were many pieces that I admired one of my favorite was a collection of glass mason jars that had the tops covered with screen and a wire to hold the screen down around the rim; leaving air holes for the suggested life form inside the jar. Inside the jar was an insect constructed of wire and glass. It's hard to explain the beauty and detail of the insects, but every one of them remained individual in it's own character; containing rather large bug eyes and color that seemed to melt in the glass.
The ReUse/ReOrder show is a unique and refreshing showcase of art that I highly recommend everyone visits! For a sneak peek of a virtual tour of the show please visit www.shutterfly.com
